Clucking success of a silent auction

The White River Gallery located at the Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre in White River played host to The Chicken Challenge 2015.

Moulded chickens were available for purchase and decorated by well known  local artists and supporters of GRIP (Greater Rape Intervention Project). Then they were exhibited at the Gallery and an online and silent auction was run from 16 May to 13 June.

Here are some of the entries that caught my eye:

All this creative brooding was in aid of GRIP, who provides support to survivors of rape and domestic violence.

If you missed out on bidding or blinging a chicken, don’t fret. You can purchase your 2016 hatchling(s) from Reinette Fourie and the talented artists of Siyabonga Crafters now, and start planning your entry into The Chicken Challenge of 2016.

What a fantastic exhibition! I love all the different interpretations ❤ Maybe I should order a chicken and get my butt to Mpumalanga next year……

    1. What a great idea. Migratory chicken of the South Peninsula. There weren’t any seafowl on display.☺ It would also make for a great post on why the chicken crossed the (country) road.
